Bio

Vincenzo J. Catarisano is a lyric tenor. A native of Rochester, NY, he first began his classical studies at the Eastman Community Music School. From there he went on to study voice at the New England Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Mezzo-Soprano D’Anna Fortunato. After receiving his BM, he furthered his studies with Professor Robert Swensen from the Eastman School and attended the Neil Semer Vocal Institute in Coesfeld, Germany.

Vincenzo’s most recent roles include Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata with the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival, Leandro in Salieri’s La Cifra with Del’arte Opera, and Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte with Rochester Lyric Opera.

In addition to his operatic career, Catarisano performs regularly in New York City’s cabaret scene where he has an ongoing residency. His cabaret shows are cowritten with composer Matthew Ricketts and showcase a blend of opera, golden age musical theater, classical art song, and American songbook. These cabarets bring classical music to a wider audience in a more intimate and approachable way.
